STATE ADMINISTRATION FOR THE INSPECTION OF IMPORT & EXPORT COMMODITY
ANNOUNCEMENT FOR IMPLEMENTING THE CATALOGUE OF IMPORT COMMODITIES
SUBJECT TO THE QUALITY LICENCE SYSTEM
(Issued by the State Administration of Import and Export
Commodity Inspection on July 28, 1989)
In accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on
Import and Export Commodity Inspection, the Provisions for the
Supervision and quality control over the Import Commodities and
provisions of the relevant documents, the State Administration of
Commodity Inspection decides to list the first nine items including
automobiles, motorcycles, motorcycle engines, refigerators (including
food freezer), compressors for freezers, air-conditioners,
compressors for air-conditioners, television sets (both colour, and
black and white) and kinescopes, in the Catalogue of Import
Commodities Subject to the Quality License System which comes into
effect from August 1, 1989.
Any foreign factories or their agents intending to
export the above-mentioned commodities to the people's Republic of
China are required to apply for the import commodity inspection
quality license certificates to the State Administration of Commodity

From the date of may 1, 1990, only the above mentioned commodities
which have obtained the import commodity quality license
certificates and have been approved to use the Safety Mark of
the State Administration of Commodity Inspection can be allowed to
the imported and the China import corporations can be allowed for
placing orders and purchase.
